I decided on a floral for my first ‘Art of the Month’ – simple, pretty, and it was actually part of my watercolour warm-up for a wedding invitation suite I’ve been working on! Inspiration came from spring time, which has sprung here in Melbourne. It’s quite difficult getting used to spring in October – the complete opposite of the USA at the moment. I have to admit, I do miss the apple cider, pumpkin carving, hayrides-through-the-apple-orchard season where the leaves turn lovely shades of red, orange and yellow. There’s a crisp, fresh smell in the autumn air that just isn’t the same in Australia. But we’re having days (and I mean every third or fourth, because in Melbourne, if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes) that are 30 celsius (well into the 80’s fahrenheit). It’s so nice to see the sunshine! It’s been hiding much of the winter. So enjoy! Download by clicking the green button below and use as your desktop image. A little bit of Spring fever, no matter what season and what continent you happen to be enjoying.
