One of my favourite things to do is create something special for someone. Designing for a memorable event, a gift for a loved one, or a logo for a new business are some of my favourite projects. But how do we get started? What is the process, what will it cost, how long will it take… there are so many unanswered questions. Well you’re in the right place. Read on and discover the method behind the creative madness…
Everything in the Lemontree studio is originally created by hand. Depending on your project, some things are digitized for professional print, letterpress or stamp production. For crests and logo/branding projects, your design(s) are delivered as high res files for a variety of applications. But everything is originally created with pen and ink, watercolour and brush. When contacted about an custom order, I ask plenty of questions! Understanding exactly what you’re looking for, your tastes, preferences and needs is the first order of business. For many projects, utilizing Pinterest can be a great way to communicate what you’re looking for in a design. Creating a board dedicated to your project with inspiration images can be one of the most useful tools in the design process.
Calligraphy takes some time. Any project that includes calligraphy will be a disastrous splatter of ink splots if your calligrapher rushes the job. I always do my best to accommodate your needs, and timing is always discussed and agreed upon when booking so you know exactly when to expect your finished order. Custom crests are usually completed within two weeks, from sketch to painting to final digital format. For wedding invitations, please allow 6 weeks total for original design, printing and delivery. I also hand paint and design a variety of wedding paper goods (custom menus, table numbers, place cards, seating charts). Logo/Branding varies, depending on the client and their needs. Please contact me for timing of custom wedding materials or any other special project.
All of my work is custom designed specifically to fit the look and feel that you’re imagining. Pricing often varies depending on the scope of your project, so please contact me for a custom quote.
And of course, there’s the Etsy Shop. Browse, ogle, there’s something for everyone.
